Financial plan for your BV: a skill that interviews you

A skill for Claude that interviews founders and turns the answers into the statutory financial plan for a Belgian BV: Excel model and Word document for the notary, in Dutch, French or English.

Anyone incorporating a BV (Belgian private limited company) files a financial plan with the notary (article 5:4 of the Belgian Companies and Associations Code). Balance sheets, income statements, a two-year budget: the piece of work that keeps getting put off. This skill makes it with you.

What the skill does

You talk, Claude asks. The interview produces an Excel model with formulas and the Word document with everything the law requires: activity, financing, balance sheets and income statements, budget, assumptions and the external expert if one helped. For every kind of business, from shop to software, including a management company.

How a session runs

Start with /financieel-plan, /plan-financier or /financial-plan, depending on the language of your plan; add the folder of an existing plan to continue working on it. Documents such as draft articles of association, quotes or a bank proposal the skill reads first; it only asks for what is missing.

What a session sounds like (fictional bakery)
  1. Claude

I have read your draft articles of association and the bank proposal. Two things are missing: the rent for the premises, and from when you take on staff.

  2. You

Rent 1,450 euros a month. One half-time baker from September.

  3. Claude

Noted. Then I have everything for checkpoint 1. Check whether this is your business: revenue, staff, costs, investments, financing.

  4. You

The oven costs 18,000, not 12,000.

  5. Claude

Updated. Your lowest cash point moves to March of year one; you will see that at checkpoint 2.

You approve at four checkpoints:

  1. The inputs: revenue, staff, costs, investments, financing. Is this my business?
  2. The key figures per year, with the lowest cash point. Is the money enough?
  3. The texts, with the questions of an independent reviewer. Is this how I would explain it to the notary?
  4. The result: Word document and Excel model, with the values you still need to check.

Everything stays in one folder on your computer; updating starts there.

What the skill does not do

  • Invent money. If the cash runs out, it says how much and when. How you cover that is your decision.
  • Keep anything quiet. "No loans" only appears after you have confirmed it.
  • Other legal forms, the VAT exemption for small businesses, credit lines and capital increases during the plan: not yet. It tells you if that applies to you.

Not advice

The plan remains the responsibility of the founders; the skill gives no tax, legal or accounting advice. Have it checked by an accountant before the notary. The Belgian rates each come with a source and a verification date; a separate skill checks them again, because laws change.

What you need

If you use Claude via claude.ai or the desktop app, nothing: Python, the libraries and LibreOffice are already included there. In Claude Code on your own computer: Python 3.9 or higher with openpyxl, python-docx and matplotlib, and LibreOffice to recalculate the Excel model. The skill checks this at the start and never installs anything without your yes: it shows the command for the missing libraries and offers to run it. If you say no, it stops and tells you what to do yourself. LibreOffice and Python you always install yourself.

The skill is a Claude plugin: a main skill that drives the interview, the Excel model and the Word document, a skill that checks the Belgian rules, and an independent reviewer. An evaluation set with fictional files keeps the whole in check. The same structure we use with clients.
